08: Dr. William Birkin

Dr. William Birkin began working for Umbrella with Albert Wesker at the age of 15. Under Dr. Marcus, they worked on the progenitor virus. This seemed to go nowhere, and thus the t-virus was born. Soon after they killed Dr. Marcus. They ended up with their own facility, the Arkley facility, where the T-Virus went underway. All espirements where halted when Alexia Ashford showed up as head researcher of another facility. Though he had never met her, Dr. Birkin learned to despise her and all of the Ashfords. After her untimely "death", William announced the G-Virus. A superior virus to the T-Virus created from a mutation in Lisa Trevors body. Around this time, he married Annette, a co-worker whom he harbored no feelings towards, for a child. Thus the birth of Sherry. His expiramental daughter with Albert Wesker. She carries the same virus in her blood as Albert Wesker.

In 1998, the egotistical doctor seemed to have met his end. He was shot by Hunk and his team. Soon after injecting himself with the G-virus (incomplete), he killed the whole team with his newly mutated body. He stepped on all the vials of the T-virus and gobbled down the vials of the G-Virus. Rats carried the T-virus all across the City. Thus the events of the Raccoon City disaster unfolded. After he was destroyed by Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield, he was taken in by Umbrella. The heavy damage caused to his mutated body caused him to return to his normal physical form. He was used as a sample specimin to complete the G/T-virus Morpheus ended up stealing. They added the electrical properties found in Albanoids on Rockfort island.

Years later the man escaped (with the help of HUNK) and eventually showed up on Albert Weskers doorstep (causing a lot of drama between himself and one Steve Burnside). Eventually a strange three-way relationship began. After it was stable enough, the three started Project: New Dawn. From this project came Shaun, Faris and Felix. Things seemed to go well, for the most part. Wesker picking up the business end of new Umbrella. William picking up the pace in the science department (engulfed in his studies as usual). Steve taking care of the kids. There were accidents of course, but sometimes they were life threatening. Things got out of hand, so one day William made a hard descision. He dropped his studies and took off with Faris without a single word to anyone.

He raised the boy successfully, that is, until the accident. A semi hit him on a snowy day. He was left in a coma for a month. When he woke he had amnesia. Sherry, who had kept in contact with her father, flew in and informed him on all he needed to know. Of course, she left out a huge chunk of information. She gave him a half truth. Sherry nursed him back to health, then flew back to her post. He is now an accountant in Seattle and completely clueless on anything involving Wesker and Umbrella.
